Are you new to the game, and have no idea what gun you should buy? Well then YOU'RE A NOOB! But it's this wiki's job to make you not a noob. Here's a brief introduction to Snipers.
What are Snipers?
Sniper Rifles are a category of gun purchasable from the shop.
Sniper rifles are semi-automatic, somewhat slowly firing guns that focus mainly on damage and accuracy. They are meant to be used at a distance.
Sniper rifles fire powerful shots that mostly 2-hit or OHKO a zombie from a long distance away. They all have a special kind of scope that zoom in further than the scope with another type of gun, and all of them have great ADS accuracy (although, less can be said for their hip-firing; I'm looking at you, PTRS!).
Snipers are some of the slowest-firing types of guns in the game. Their reloading speeds aren't something to be proud of, either. They also have huge recoils that make it hard to chain bullets one after another. This makes it hard to rapidly fire off shots from a sniper rifle and expect them to all hit.
On top of that, snipers also give huge walkspeed decreases- once a zombie gets too close, escape will not be easy. In addition, snipers don't have lots and lots of ammo in a clip- although they do have quite a bit reserve ammo. But you can get lots of kills without that much ammo, if you can aim.
How do I use these?
Snipers are meant to be used at a distance. Camp well away from the zombie hordes, and pick them off slowly one by one.
Curiously enough, however, some snipers work really well with run-and-gun, even with the huge walkspeed decrease. Because of the large reserve ammo ratios, snipers do not need tons of trips to the red ammo box.
Even though snipers are primarily long-ranged weapons, they can be used at all ranges, and even excel at those.
